At the market places that were initially closed in the early hours of the day, like the Rimi and Kantin Kwari markets, people have spontaneously started opening their shops and places of business
Major streets that were also deserted Friday suddenly came alive, as motorist gain confidence and were seen moving about without fear of molestation.
A resident of Soron Dinki in Kano metropolis, Mahdi Yusuf in an interview with INDEPENDENT expresses gratitude with the decision of the Supreme Court saying it had averted a violent reaction by the public.
“Supreme Court has saved Kano from violent reaction because, if the decision had gone not in favor of Abba, not even the security would have contained the situation.
“But with what you are seeing now, there is relief all over. People are spontaneously coming out to celebrate and tension and violence have been averted.
Meanwhile, security personnel were seen in strategic locations while commercial and other activities in the state have since bounced back.
The Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Usain Gumel had expressed appreciation with the public for it’s cooperation, before during and after the Supreme Court judgement. He called on the public to remain calm and law abiding as they celebrate.
