Anambra Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye has vowed to hunt down the gunmen responsible for the gruesome murder of the party chairman of Young Progressives Party, YPP in Nanka, Orumba North local government area of the state.

Some unknown gunmen on Saturday, invaded the community in a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) killing Mr. Joe Mohel, YPP Chairman in the ward and whisking away another native of the community identified as Ichie Patrick Ezeanaka, a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party in Nanka.

In a statement by the command’s spokesman, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the CP while condemning the action, assured they’re already working with leads to arrest the perpetrators.

“The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Aderemi Adeoye has vowed that the Command will hunt down and bring to justice the killers of the Nanka Ward Chairman of Young Progressive Party (YPP).

“The Commissioner who condemned the killing in strongest possible terms described the killers as cowards who have murdered sleep.

“They might think they have committed a perfect crime and that they would get away with it but they delude themselves.

“The Police is already working on vital clues to unmask the perpetrators.

“The Command wishes to re-assure all law abiding citizens especially in Nanka not to be afraid but to join hands with the Police in bringing the murderers and their sponsor to justice.”
