Kumuyi charges Christians to use offerings to feed the poor, unemployed

Doctor William Folohunso Kumuyi, General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, has advised Christians not to give their contributions to the church but rather to the destitute and unemployed in their community.
Kumuyi, who made the statement in a viral video, was heard urging his church audience that Christians should not spend all of their money on church construction but rather aid their needy neighbours who cannot buy basic necessities.
Kumuyi recounted how a preacher directed his congregation to donate money to the destitute and unemployed in their community.
Kumuyi stated that when building the church, Christians should remember their neighbours who are dying of famine.
He said, “Look at all this offering we’re collecting; this church has silver and gold. I learned of a preacher somewhere who was having their church service. And he said, Now we’re going to collect the offering. If you have 10,000, N20,000, or N50,000, raise your hand, and they will be faithful.
“Then he stood up and said that N10,000, 20,000, and N50,000 go to the poor in your community. All the offering is not just church; there are poor, unemployed people around. There are indigent people around. We will build ours, but while you’re building, your neighbours are dying.
“Your neighbour, who does not have anything, your sisters, and your brother have nothing to send their children to school. We built DLICC (Deeper Life International Conference Centre) with all the offerings we could build. And we can now be at ease and allow our members to die of hunger and to be destroyed because they have nothing and we have the money.
“And what if this church, like we used to do in the olden days, in the good old days, reserved some amount of money for charity? We allocate some amount of money for building DLICC and the district church, and the people we’re building for are dying of hunger, malnutrition, and starvation.
“Let’s budget part of the money—millions of our currency—to take care of the people. Which one comes first when your house is leaking and your mother is dying? How will you spend it—mending the leaking room or taking care of your mother?
“We should give priority to members of our church, even those who are not members. We know them, and we can contact them.
“We should not spend all our money on the building of a church that will not be raptured when Christ comes, because Christ is coming,” Kumuyi noted.

Run away from that leprosy

By Gabriel Agbo
Gehazi
We saw how Gehazi, the Elisha’s servant brought the generational curse of leprosy upon himself, his children, and his descendants forever; just because of greed, deception and disloyalty. God had used Prophet Elisha to cure Naaman; an Aramean army general of his leprosy. The soldier with joy and gratitude brought gifts to the man of God; which he rejected. As the general (now a new convert) was going home, promising to serve the God of Israel, the greedy Gehazi ran after him. Gehazi met him and lied to him that his master Elisha sent him to collect some of those gifts he had earlier rejected. He collected and hid them. But as he was coming in, the prophet told him all about his treacherous actions and promptly issued a generational curse upon him.
“Because you have done this, you and your children and your children’s children will suffer from Naaman’s leprosy forever’ When Gehazi left the room, he was leprous; his skin was as white as snow.”
2 kings 5: 27
Gehazi was indeed a treacherous person. Greed pushed him to run after Naaman. When he caught Naaman, he lied with his master’s name and when he was coming back he hid the ill-gotten gifts. As if that was not enough, he again lied to his master, who was asking him where he was coming from. I wonder what he had been learning from the prophet while he was with him. He was indeed deceptive, disloyal and treacherous. For all these, he succeeded in destroying his and his descendants’ destinies forever. Falsehood, deception, disloyalty and betrayal can never go unpunished. Never!
Gibeonites
The Gibeonites also resorted to deception to save themselves from the Israelites and that action eventually turned them and their generations into wood choppers and water carriers. Be careful! See it:
“Joshua did not allow the people of Israel to kill them. But that day he made the Gibeonites the woodchoppers and water carriers for the people of Israel and for the altar of the LORD – wherever the LORD would choose to build it. That arrangement continues to this day.”
Joshua 9:26-27.
Paying Evil for Good
Another treacherous act that brings generational curse upon an individual, family or people is paying evil for good. That is when you deliberately reward somebody who has done well to you with evil. This brings terrible curses not just to the individual, but to their family. The bible said in Proverbs 17:13 that,
“If you repay evil for good, evil will never leave your house.”
That is, you must make sure that you always repay good for good. You must make sure that you don’t betray a person who has favored you. If you do otherwise, the bible says that evil will come to your house, family and make a permanent abode. Some other translations say that it (evil) will remain in your house (family). And house here again means family and you know that anything that has to do with the family has already gone generational; because it will affect the children, children’s children and may go on and on. You must ensure always, without fail that you repay good for good. Even the bible said that we should go beyond that to do well to those who did evil to us. True!
David had this terrible experience from the people he favoured. They paid him evil for good and he consequently asked God to give them their due reward – punishment (curses). Let us read Psalm 35:12-13, “They repay me with evil for the good I do. I am sick with despair. Yet when they were ill, I grieved for them. I even fasted and prayed for them, but my prayers returned unanswered. I was sad, as though they were my friends or family, as if I were grieving for my own mother.”
Then in Psalm 109:1-5,
“O God, whom I praise, don’t stand silent and aloof while the wicked slander me and tell lies about me. They are all around me with their hateful words, and they fight against me for no reason. I love them, but they try to destroy me – even as I am praying for them! They return evil for good, and hatred for my love.”
Like I said earlier, David had a dose of treachery from men. From his son to his friends, his advisers to adversaries. Even King Saul, while David was showing him kindness, he was busy making every possible plan to terminate the young boy’s life out of jealousy. David then called upon God to defend and fight for him. Every victim of treachery makes one form of prayer or the other, even if it is not audible. And most times, it is a call against the treacherous person. A call for justice and God’s defence, and it is always answered. David said, “God don’t stand silent and aloof.” Did God answer him? Yes! Just check out how all his enemies, including the treacherous ones ended. Jesus, Paul, and others also reaffirmed that a betrayer is cursed. In fact, Jesus said that He knew that He was going to be betrayed, but cursed is the man that would allow himself to be used as the instrument; that it would be better he was not born. Treachery will always attract curses upon a person and his next generations.
In the case of Ham, it made them servants. For Gehazi and his descendants, it was leprosy. Gibeonites – woodchoppers and water carriers. And for those who pay evil for good, they and their next generations shall have evil dwelling permanently in their families. Watch the treacherous person and his descendants; it has never been well with them. For whatever a man sows, that he must surely reap. Be careful! Now, you have the opportunity to pray for forgiveness of those treacherous acts of yours, your parents and your family. Bow your head and admit to the Lord that you are sorry for those ungodly acts. Ask him to remove any sin that is against your bloodline. And if you have inherited anything that does not glorify him, ask him to remove it from you, your children and your children’s children. Renew your pledge to His kingdom and government, then stand and guard against the devices of the enemy. We will continue next week. God bless!

Seeds Of Destiny 26 January 2025: Ungodly Character And The Abortion Of Destiny

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 26 January 2025 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Ungodly Character And The Abortion Of Destiny

TOPIC: Ungodly Character And The Abortion Of Destiny Seeds Of Destiny 26 January 2025)
SCRIPTURE: And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left….And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life. Judges 16:29-30.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: People lose in life when they lose godly character.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2024 MESSAGE:
It has been confirmed that the bankruptcy of godly character is the undoing of any man. To put this in another way, a man’s undoing begins when he loses his godly character. People lose in life when they lose godly character. Samson was a tragic example of people in this category. He lost his anointing, his destiny and eventually, his life due to the bankruptcy of godly character. He moved from one harlot to another desecrating his consecration and moral integrity. He refused to bring his life under a spiritual coverage that would have instilled in him moral uprightness. He died a prisoner’s death. (Judges 16:29-30).
What about Absalom? He was full of pride. He was described as a “beautiful” man, but he was a rebellious child that could not submit to the authority of his own father, King David. And this rebellious character caused him to die like a mad dog. He was caught hanging on a tree by his hair and was pierced with a spear. Later, he was brought down, put in a pit, and covered with stones. Beloved, you gain nothing in life with ungodly character; rather, you lose in life when you are bankrupt of godly character. (2 Samuel 18:9-15).
Judas Iscariot was another person who lost out in life and in destiny at the frequency of ungodly character. He loved money to the point where he decided to sell his Master, Jesus Christ, the Creator of the universe, the One who was responsible for his life and sustenance. He kept stealing from the purse until he decided to sell his Master. The consequence: he died by suicide. He took his own life (Acts 1:15-18). One sad thing to note from the lives of the three people mentioned above is that they did not end well. Ungodly character is one reason for the abortion of destiny and the untimely termination of life. It cuts short the life and destiny of a person. But that will never be your portion in Jesus’ Name. Today, I pray that the grace to live uprightly be released upon you, in Jesus’ Name.
Remember this: People lose in life when they lose godly character.
ASSIGNMENT:
- Prayerfully guard against the temptation to give in to ungodly character.
- Continue to uphold godly character to fulfil your life and destiny.
PRAYER: Father, I ask that You help me never to lose out in life and destiny. Deliver me from the tragedy of ungodly and negative character, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Seeds Of Destiny 24 August 2024: Your Desire And Your Delivery

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 24 August 2024 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Your Desire And Your Delivery

TOPIC: Your Desire And Your Delivery (Seeds Of Destiny 24 August 2024)
SCRIPTURE: Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. – Psalm 42:7.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There is a spiritual magnetic force of attraction between you and that which you desire.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2023 MESSAGE:
It has been confirmed that desire is the secret of delivery. People take delivery of what they desire and seek after. What you desire, you must acquire.
Psalm 42:7 says,
Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
What you desire is what you attract. There is a spiritual magnetic force of attraction between you and that which you desire.
For example, when you see a pastor who shepherds a crowd of people, it is because he has a passionate desire for people.
Some years ago, the crusade director of Reinhard Bonnke’s ministry came to our church. And while we were talking, he said to me, “I will make sure Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke comes to this church; you know Bonnke likes crowd.”
Then I said, “No wonder he gets crowd.” Reinhard Bonke liked crowd and crowds of people are seen in his crusades.
You see, what you don’t like, you will lack. If your desire is stronger, your deliveries will be greater.
Your assignment is to increase the fire of your desire.
I want you to know that your desire is the call of your spirit. Your desire is a call of the spirit for the manifestation of certain dimensions of God through your life. Your desire is the call of your soul.
There are things your soul is calling for, through your desire.
For example, your desire may be a call for a very fearful dimension of prophetic operations, unusual apostolic manifestations of miracles signs and wonders, etc. And as long as that desire remains, you are going to attract the relevant gift and anointing for that level of manifestations.
This is the reason for the difference between the results of different men and ministries. The difference in the results of men is in the weight, quality and the intensity of their desire. There are many light-hearted people, and so, they experience light results in life. So, what you carry is what you can manifest.
Remember this: There is a spiritual magnetic force of attraction between you and that which you desire.
ASSIGNMENT:
- Go through today’s message once again.
- Make up your mind to increase the level of your desire so you can attract greater things to your life.
PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You increase the intensity of my desire. I make demands on the delivery of the treasures of the Kingdom as I increase my level of desire according to your promises in Your Word, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
